Hi, I’m Nat! My love for photography started long before Unique Photography was even a thought. I got my very first camera at seven—a bright pink Hanimex 110—and my little brother was my first ever subject. Things got serious at 16 when my baby sister was born and I received my first SLR. I spent countless lunchtimes in the darkroom, developing black-and-white film, and even turned my dad’s study into a makeshift lab. From that moment on, I was hooked! And yes, that’s me in the photo—super young back then! lol—and it has evolved alongside the different seasons of my life.
I started Unique Photography in 2004, and it has grown with me ever since. From weddings and studio sessions near Sydney to beach shoots on the Central Coast, I’ve always loved capturing real, joyful moments. Becoming a mother added a whole new layer of meaning to my work—I cherish capturing the everyday beauty of life with children, the little messes, the cuddles, and all the fleeting moments that pass too quickly.
Now, living in the beautiful Blue Mountains, surrounded by family and nature, I feel truly at home. Photography isn’t just my job—it’s my passion. I bring love, care, and excitement to every session, with the goal of creating images that feel real, meaningful, and uniquely yours.

Since having my own children, I’ve come to realize just how quickly time moves, and how important it is to record as much as possible. I want to capture not just the milestones, but the little moments, because those are the ones that truly make my heart sing.
While I love the occasional beach or park photoshoot, my absolute favorite images of my children are the ones taken at home—those raw, unscripted snapshots of real life. It’s the messy faces at dinner, the joyful splashes from playing with the garden hose, or the quiet moments of tea in their cubby house that mean the most. These are the moments where their personalities shine, and they are reminders of just how fast they are growing and changing. When they look back on these pictures, I want them to feel my love, to know that even when I’m not physically with them anymore, I was watching, noticing, and cherishing every little thing they did. I want them to see the world through my eyes—the funny, sweet, and candid moments that made up their childhood.
Another reason I believe so deeply in the power of photography is how comforting it can be in times of loss. When I suddenly lost my father in 2018, every single photo of him became invaluable. Whether it was a perfect candid of him laughing or just his arm peeking into the corner of a shot, those images became like gold to me. They were a reminder of his presence, his love, and his place in our lives.
